The NovSU rector Viktor Weber believes that distance education will help to enhance the quality and accessibility of educational services, and allow expanding national and international market of educational services. In recent years, this area was paid greater attention. As a result:

  1. Education now is available for the disabled.
  2. Distance learning system is based on «Moodle» platform which supports it at all stages (design a course, teaching, assessment, etc.)
  3. Distance Learning Center renders consulting and training support to NovSU lecturers who design distance learning courses.

 All the above said allows launching a new educational project focused on commercialization of this innovative capacity.

As early as this year a new Master program in Financial Management will be available. Also there will be more than 20 different retaining courses in Construction, IT, Management, Pharmacy, Law, etc. The courses can be found on the web-site http://e-learning.novsu.ru/ which is working in the test mode now.

As a project leader Nikolay Kurmyshev, the Vice-Rector  for IT, says: “The great advantage of the project is Moodle technology, which allows the following:

  • Accessibility of education at any time & place;
  • Twenty four/seven online access;
  • Knowledge control via integrated test system;
  • Feedback with an instructor (e-mail, SMS, forum, blogs, videoconference, etc.).

The educational programs and courses will be available in Russian, English and German.”
