Рассматриваются вопросы деятельности крестьянских сословных учреждений мелкого кредита, созданных в Новгородской губернии до отмены крепостного права: банков (касс) государственных и удельных крестьян. Освещаются цели и задачи их деятельности, место в хозяйственной жизни феодальной деревни, перспективы после отмены крепостного права. Изучаются их капиталы и основные операции, состав членов, руководители. Приводятся причины упадка этих кредитных учреждений в середине ХIХ в.

The article deals with the issues of the activity of peasant class institutions of small credit created in the Novgorod province before the abolition of serfdom: banks (cash) of state and specific peasants. The goals and objectives of their activities, the place in the economic life of the feudal village, the prospects after the abolition of the power law are highlighted. Their capitals and basic operations, members, managers are studied. The reasons for decline of these credit institutions in the middle of XIX century are considered.
