Last Wednesday, on October 21, participants of the international online course "Cross-Cultural Business Communication" had an informal talk with Dr. Jesse Lutabingwa, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Appalachian State University (USA), Director of the Center for International Education and Development.

 

Jesse Lutabingwa is in charge of international affairs and education of the Appalachian State University (https://international.appstate.edu/).The listeners asked him about the experience of communicating with representatives of different cultures,including those they are studying in the framework of the project, learned how to build effective relationships with international partners, which aspects of this process are most important.

As organizers note, the participants of the meeting had so many questions that it lasted much longer than planned. For example, the participants asked him about his first impressions of Russia and its culture, what was shocking, what he liked, as well as how the representatives of different cultures relate to time, food, touch, how they build trust, etc.
