08.10.2008  Today Mr. Kari Hypponen, Director of Administration of University of Turku, Finland, comes to NovSU with a brief visit.

Kari Hypponen is a Chairman of Steering Committee of the Baltic Sea Region University Network (BSRUN).

 

The Network was created in 2000, and at the moment there are 40 member institutions in Belarus, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Russia.The Novgorod State University joined BSRUN in 2006. Goal of BSRUN is to facilitate and enhance co-operation between partner-universities from seven countries of the Baltic region.   The Network supports joint projects and the programs focused on:

  • Baltic Studies and Baltic Sea Region studies
  • Distance Education and Open and Distance Learning
  • European Integration and European Studies 
  • Institutional Management and Administration
  • Internationalisation 
  • Management Information Systems and Information Technology
  • Regional Development.

During his visit Kari Hypponen will meet with President of NovSU Anatoly Gavrikov, Rector Victor Veber, Vice Rector for International Relations Mikhail Pevzner, Director of Institute of Humanities Anatoly Donchenko, Director of Institute of Continuous Pedagogical Education Alexander Shirin, and also with representatives of the academic staff and International Activity Department.   On October, 9th Kari Hypponen will take part in the seminar “Performance of Various Cooperation Programs of NovSU with the European Partner-Universities.”
