20.06.2008  NovSU within a consortium of 18 European universities won the competition of the international programme Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window.

The aim of the programme is mutual enrichment and better understanding between the European Union and Third Countries through the exchange of persons, knowledge and skills at higher education level.

The programme provides internship of the Russian and European lecturers at high education institutions-members of the consortium, as well as training of students and post-graduate students in partner HEI during the period from September, 2008 till September, 2012. For NovSU it means that within four years more than 80 representatives of our university of various branches and specialties will have the opportunity to study at the best universities of Germany, Spain, Italy, Finland, Belgium and Holland, etc.

Our victory in the competition means not only the new opportunities, but also a great responsibility, for during the project period NovSU will receive more than 60 European students and lecturers from partner HEI. It will require the comfortable conditions for their stay in Veliky Novgorod.

It is necessary to note, that the victory in this competition was hard. From the hundred applications submitted to Euro Commission this year, only nineteen were satisfied, with participation of Russian higher education institutions – just three.

Certainly, we are pleased with the very fact of a victory, and that we are in the list of the leading higher education institutions. Members of a consortium are such leading Russian universities as:
