11.05.2013  NovSU students received scholarships from the Mayor of Veliky Novgorod

In 2013, the city administration decided to increase the number of fellows from three to six people/year as well as the amount of scholarships from 1500 to 2100 rubles per month. Thus, in 2013, six individual scholarships of the Mayor of Veliky Novgorod - 2100 rubles each - will be given to the following NovSU students:
- Ekaterina Vasileva, a 4th year student of Law Faculty, School of Humanities;
- Tatyana Grin’, a 4th year student of Faculty of Psychology and Education, School of Continuous Pedagogical Education;
- Maria Gusar, a5th year student of Department of Architecture and Design, Polytechnic School;
- Eevgeniya Donshakova, a 3d year student of Faculty of Linguistics and Cross-Cultural Communication, School of Humanities;
- Olga Prokopeva, a 4thyear student of Faculty of Accounting and Finance, School of Economics and Administration;
- Zhanna Semenova, a 3d year student of Faculty of Economics, School of Economics and Administration.

Scholarships of the Mayor of Veliky Novgorod are being given to students of institutions of higher vocational education since 2011. According to the Regulations on the procedure for allocating and paying the  scholarship of the Mayor of Veliky Novgorod, approved by the decision of the Municipal Duma of Veliky Novgorod by 01.02.2011 № 904, the scholarship may be appointed to students of higher education institutions who have shown outstanding ability in learning, research and are taking an active part in the activities of the local Government of Veliky Novgorod in the field of youth policy.

Criteria for the evaluation of candidates’ achievements for the appointment of the name the Mayor’ scholarship are the following:
• meeting the requirements of the curriculum, “excellent” academic performance for the past 4 academic semesters, prior to the application;
• high achievements in city, provincial, regional, national and international competitions, festivals, exhibitions, contests; discoveries made, inventions, research publications in the academic year preceding the submission of the application;
• ongoing participation in activities undertaken by the city government in the field of youth policy.

Students aiming for the Mayor’s scholarship submit an application and all necessary documents to the Youth Division of the Committee of Culture and Youth Policy of Veliky Novgorod Administration before March 15.

An Interdepartmental Commission decides whether to appoint a scholarship.

In 2011 and 2012, six NovSU students received individual Mayor’s scholarships, 1500 rubles each.

Payment of individual scholarships is budgeted in  Veliky Novgorod municipal purpose-oriented program "Youth Policy in VelikyNovgorod" for 2011-2014 and carried out by the Committee of Culture and Youth Policy.
