09.03.2017  NovSU students represented the Novgorodregion at the All-Russia Rural Sports Games

On 2 - 6 March, the VIII All-Russian Winter Rural Sports Games were held in Berdsk located in Novosibirsk region. Teams from 59 regions of Russia contended for the championship.

The team of Novgorod Region, which included students from the NovSU Department of Theoretical Physics and Mechanics Evgeni Yurov and Olga Khokhlova, participated in all competitive events: cross-country skiing, kettlebell lifting, polyathlon, chess, drafts, professional competitions and etc.

As a result, they took the first place in the group of regions with a population of up to 250 thousand people.

For reference: All-Russia Rural Sports Games were held for the first time in 1995. Since 2003, they are held regularly (once in two years on summer and winter) as part of the state program "Development of Physical Culture and Sports".
