On March 2, the traditional competition "Pearl of NovSU — 2017" took place in NovSU School of Humanities. Six faculty and staff members of schools and colleges of NovSU took part in the spring competition this year: Tatyana Lapteva (School of Agriculture and Natural Resources); Anna Shirshova (College of Humanities and Economics); Anastasia Novikova (School of Medical Education); Lilia Mednis (Office of Visas and Registration of NovSU); Maria Murashova (Polytechnic College) and Nadezhda Gerasimova (Office of the Chief Mechanical Engineer of NovSU).

Anastasia Novikova from School of Medical Education won the title "Pearl of NovSU-2017".

The competition was dedicated to the Year of Ecology announced in Russia this year. Contenders for the title "Pearl of NovSU-2017" had to compete among themselves in the following categories: business card competition, competition of the ecological poster, culinary duel, creative competition where they could show the choreographic, vocal and actor's talents. In addition, the paper and cardboard handmade outfit competition just struck the audience and judges with the beauty of the presented dresses. The competitive program was followed by music, choreographic and other creative turns performed by NovSU students and city ensemble.

Summing up the results, the president of NovSU Anatoly Gavrikov noted that the competition "Pearl of NovSU" develops along with the contenders from year to year, extends and enriches with new manifestations of talents of a fine half of the University. He paid special attention to a strong support, which was given to participants by their colleagues, friends and relatives this year and congratulated contenders and all present women on the coming spring holiday.

By the decision of jury, each of participants won in a certain nomination: "Lady Auto" - Tatyana Lapteva; "Lady Charm" - Maria Murashova; "Lady Grace" - Lilia Mednis; "Lady Style" - Nadezhda Gerasimova; "Lady Glamour" - Anna Shirshova. Besides, Nadezhda Gerasimova became the best in the culinary competition, and Lilia Mednis was recognized as "The Queen of Hearts".
