The Career Day for students and graduates of the NovSU School of Continuous Pedagogical Education took place on 8 April. It was organized by the NovSU Career Center. Anatoly Osipov, the Head of the Department of Education and Youth Policy of the Novgorod Region, Alexander Shirin, the Director of the NovSU School of Continuous Pedagogical Education, and Elena Ivanova, the Director of the NovSU Career Center, representatives of more that ten educational institutions of Veliky Novgorod took part in the conversation with the students. The main topic of the meeting was the organization of practical work for students and further cooperation in the field of higher education.

Anatoly Osipov, the Head of the Department of Education and Youth Policy of the Novgorod Region, informed NovSU students about staffing needs and working conditions. He said that today in the Novgorod region, a schoolteacher has an average salary of 25 thousand rubles, which depends on the length of service, workload, and level of expertise and can even reach 70 thousand rubles. In addition, Anatoly Osipov listed the job openings that are now available in some districts of Novgorod region (Lyubytino, Parfino, Poddorye, Shimsk, Hvoynaya Okulovka, etc.). Head of the Department said that in some districts, about 24% of schoolteachers are pensioners, and currently a course is hold for a rejuvenation of teaching staff and recent graduates are welcomed in the educational institutions of Novgorod region. "The teacher is a continuous development, constant movement forward and responsibility. But those who make this decision and became a teacher, I assure you, they are very self-actualized,” - he added.
