20.03.2014  Video meeting with the Missouri State University

On March 19 at 06.00 pm, the NovSU Competence Center hosted the video meeting between the NovSU School of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the William H. Darr School of Agriculture at Missouri State University * (Springfield, MO, the US)

On the part of NovSU, the following faculty members participated in the video meeting:

• Natalia Shaydorova, Head of Office of International Affairs
• Ekaterina Pchelina, Head of the Department of Natural Sciences and Natural Resources
• Tatiana Kondratyeva, Head of the Department of Agricultural Production Technology
• Alexander Tokar, Professor of Department of Animal Science
• Lydiya Semkiv, Associate Professor of Department of Animal Science
• Natalia Ilyashenko, Head of Information and Analysis Section of Office of International Affairs. 

Missouri State University was represented by:

• Steve Robinette, Vice-Rector for International Programs
• Gary Webb, Professor and Animal Sciences Unit Leader
• Beth Walker, Associate Professor of Animal Science/ Physiologist and Small Ruminant Specialist
• Mike Klem, Reproductive Physiologist and Beef Production
• Christi Sudbrock, Agriculture Economics and Coordinator of Outreach Activities
• Samantha Francka, Web & Marketing Specialist, Research and Economic Development/International Programs. 

During the video meeting, participants got acquainted with each other, learned about focus areas   of agricultural schools (in particular, animal science), and found a lot in common - from the activity of schools to the disciplines taught at the Departments of Animal Science of both schools. The following forms of cooperation in the field of education and research were discussed and identified: exchange of experience in organization of educational process and teaching methodology of agricultural disciplines; invitation of representatives of the schools to participate in the methodological conferences and seminars; exchange of curricula, scientific and methodological literature and software products for the agricultural disciplines; reciprocal exchange of students, staff and faculty members; joint preparation and publication of study guides and textbooks (e-books), etc. 

In the near future, it is expected to sign a bilateral agreement on cooperation between the Novgorod State University and the Missouri State University.
