Автор статьи рассматривает историю слов подвиг, подвижник, которые относит к ключевым словам русской духовной культуры, образующим модель фрагмента русского ментального лексикона. В статье показаны изменения в семантике этих слов, связанные с утратой старых и появлением новых значений. Одной из причин автор считает появление слова герой, которое сформировало два представления о подвиге: подвиг христианский ― подвижничество, и подвиг светский ― героизм.

The author examines the history of the words feat, ascetic as the key words of the Russian spiritual culture that form a model of a fragment of the Russian mental lexicon. The article shows the changes in the semantics of these words associated with the loss of old and the emergence of new meanings. The emergence of the word hero, which formed two ideas about the feat: Christian feat ― asceticism, and secular feat ― heroism, is considered as one of the reasons of semantic evolution of the word being studied.
