Анализируется чеховское открытие в области детали — большая роль звуков в его прозе, и особенно драматургии — и его влияние на литературу и культуру XX—XXI вв., возникшее не без участия постановок пьес А.Чехова на сцене Московского художественного театра. «Чеховские звуки» стали не только фактом литературы, но и фактом культуры, стали восприниматься самостоятельно, в отрыве от его произведений. Эта деталь то усиливала лирическое начало текста, то пародийное, а к рубежу XX—XXI вв. — абсурдистское.

The article analyzes the Chekhov's discovery in the field of detail — the great role of sounds in his prose, and especially in drama — and its influence on literature and culture of XX—XXI centuries; it also appeared thanks to the Moscow Art Theatre. “Chekhov's sounds” became not only a fact of literature, but also a fact of culture; they began to be perceived independently, in isolation from his works. This detail strengthened the lyrical component of the text, then the parody one, and to the turn of XX—XXI centuries — the absurd one.
