The annual third competition of dramatic reading in Korean was held within the framework of the 12th Week of International Cooperation at Novgorod State University for the secondary school and University students. The competition was held with support of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in St. Petersburg.

Novgorod State University students and students of educational organizations of Veliky Novgorod, who studied Korean at beginner and intermediate levels at the NovSU Center of Korean Language and Culture took part in the language competition.

Three school students Yulia Mikhailova, Alina Ovchinnikova and Anastasia Kolodochka, two university students Leila Abdullayeva and Elena Belozerova, and the associate professor of the NovSU Department of Pedagogy Svetlana Vatoropina participated in the competition. The jury included Darya Ismailova and Maria Semenova, the teachers of NovSU Center of Korean Language and Culture. The chairperson of the jury was an expert from Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in St. Petersburg, Mr. Park Joon Hyung.

This year the competition was held in two stages. At the first stage, the participants presented their prepared creative works - videos on the topic "About Veliky Novgorod in Korean". Participants of the contest made the sound track for their videos in Korean language and accompanied it with Russian subtitles.

The second task was to prepare an essay on Korean poetry. In the allotted time, the contestants had to translate into Russian a poem of one of the famous Korean poets, and then describe their impression of the chosen poem in their essays in the Korean language. Participants translated and recited poems such as "Flower" (Kim Chunsu), "Voice of the Wind" (Ma Zhongyi), "Sunny Day" (Seo Jeong-ju).
