26.04.2018  Volunteer association "Young to Young" organized an action on streets of Veliky Novgorod

On April 25, "Young toYoung" volunteers from the NovSU Medical College of Secondary Vocational Education told residents of Veliky Novgorod about importance of specific prophylaxis, and about rights and duties of everyone to protection against infectious diseases.

During the European Immunization Week, anybody who wanted to could receive vaccination according to the national vaccination schedule in every policlinic of the region.

Vaccine prophylaxis is the most available and the most effective way to decrease infant mortality and increase active ageing. 20 years ago, there was no need to persuade in the necessity of vaccination, but now there is many refusals of vaccination. Thanks to vaccination, people are not dealing with severe and mass infections, and they begin to refuse of vaccination. In 5-7 years, such behaviour can become the reason of disease outbreak, disabilities and fatal cases.

In Russia, every child has the right to protection from infectious diseases. Annually in the world, approximately 10 million children at the age from one week to 14 are dying from infectious diseases. Three millions of them die from infections against which there are vaccines.

Unfortunately, many people still recall about prophylaxis, only when the infection manifests about itself in full force. Infections are everywhere and they are dangerous. Immunization protects from about 30 severe infections.
