16.09.2019  Over 160 specialists in the field of system programming came to Ivannikov International Conference at NovSU

International Ivannikov international conference started at the Novgorod State University on September 13. More than 160 specialists in system programming from different countries took part in this workshop. For three days, they discussed the development of innovative technologies.

The conference was dedicated to the memory of Viktor Ivannikov, who founded the Institute for System Programing (ISP) of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He passed away two years ago. Last year, the first international conference sacred to his memory was held in Yerevan.

It was an honor for Veliky Novgorod to hold the second conference due to the 10th anniversary of the System Programing Laboratory, which operated on the basis of the NovSU Business Incubator. Victor Ivannikov was the head of the laboratory since the day of its creation. Laboratory staff members are primarily involved in research and development in the field of emulation, necessary for understanding the operation of programs.

The director of the Institute for System Programing named after V.P. Ivannikov, Harutyun Avetisyan, spoke at the conference and noted that for ten years of cooperation, ISP and NovSU got very good results.

In addition, A. Avetisyan awarded a number of NovSU students - Alexey Vanchikov, Maxim Semenyuk and Arkady Ivanov - with the Certificates for scholarships named after Academician Ivannikov from the Institute for System Programing. The scholarship - seven thousand rubles per month - would be paid to the students throughout the year.

Plenary reports at the opening of the Ivannikov conference were presented by world-famous experts - Dines Bjørner from the University of the Danish city of Odense and Assaf Schuster from the Technion University, located in Haifa. It should be noted that Schuster’s and his group’s inventions are used by Microsoft and Intel.

The conference participants discussed more specific issues in such sections as technology analysis, modeling and transformation of programs; information systems and data management; usage of an open-source software for high-performance computing.
