27.03.2015  NovSU offers a free course “eCitizen”

“eCitizen” is a course for everyone who wants to learn how to operate PC and use the Internet. The course begins on March 23 and it is completely free. Each student will receive a free set of textbooks. After completing the course and successful passing of the final test, the students receive an international certificate – an “eCitizen Passport”, which is valid in 70% of countries.

The project is initiated and implemented by the Government of the Novgorod Region. The first phase of the project, during which 1 000 people will attend the course, will be held in March. Due to a great number of persons interested, preference will be given to the ones who signed up first and to pensioners, unemployed, people under risk of being discharged and other socially unprotected people.

The training will be held in 10 modern computer classes of Novgorod State University in two buildings – in the main one and in School of Humanities (Antonovo). During the training, the students will learn how to use the operation system, text editors and the editors of electronic tables, to be confident surfing the Internet, and to protect PC from viruses and other cyber attacks. Moreover, they will acquire the skills of searching for the information on the web, booking hotels, plane and railway tickets, buying tickets to the theater, cinema, concerts and exhibitions, receiving municipal and public service via the Internet. They will also learn how to register on web-sites and portals.
