27.05.2014  NovSU Students got Veliky Novgorod Mayor’s Scholarship Certificates 2014

An award ceremony took place at the NovSU conference hall where NovSU students were awarded with Veliky Novgorod Mayor’s Scholarship Certificates 2014. The Novgorod mayor Yuri Bobryshev presented the certificates.

 

In 2014, the Veliky Novgorod Mayor’s Scholarship has been appointed the fourth consecutive year. Six  scholarships -2100 rubles each - were awarded to the following students: 

  • Ivanov Dmitry, the third-year student of School of Economics and Management;
  • Nora Sergey, the third-year student of School of Medical Education;
  • Olneva Anna, the fourth-year student of School of Humanities;
  • Semenova Zhanna, the fourth-year student of School of Economics and Management;
  • Somov Alexander, the third-year student of School of Economics and Management;
  • Schegoleva Tatyana, the fifth-year student of Polytechnic School. 

Moreover, NovSU student Maria Larionova got the letter of gratitude for participation in social life of Novgorod, initiative and personal contribution to the development of student self-government.

 

Yuri Bobryshev congratulated the scholarship holders with the event and said, that really good people were invited to participate in it. He also said, that the scholarship was too small, but he promised to revise it next year, what caused a storm of applause. The mayor recalled his student life, it was 40 years ago, and how the scholarship was important for young people. He talked about more serious things: about formation of NovSU in the early 1990’s, its development and that today our university is one of the best universities in Russia, about development of regional centre and programs of supporting young families. In the end, he called young people to stay in Veliky Novgorod after graduation from the University.
